Sir John Edward Lennard-Jones KBE, FRS (October 27, 1894 - November 1, 1954) was a mathematician who held a chair of theoretical physics at Bristol University, and then a chair of theoretical science at Cambridge University. He may be regarded as the father of modern computational chemistry.
